Answer: Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) is a chemical detergent that can irrirate sensitive skin. It is found in many cleaning products for the home because it works to remove stains. It makes products foam a lot. All Babo products are sulfate free. We do not use chemicals to make products foam. We use sulfonates (which are derived from natural ingredients). The lather isn't as strong as using sulfates, but it still lathers well and is completely gentle, natural and non-irritating.
