Our Story

Founded by Laura Kauffmann and Beth Hooper, licensed acupuncturists with Master’s Degrees in Traditional Chinese medicine, She Essential Beauty is an organic and natural skin care and bath/body line inspired by the beauty regimes of empresses from dynasty’s past. Bringing this ancient knowledge to life in modern products and helping to educate our customers on how to take care of their skin naturally is what inspires us.

Favorite part about creating your products

Scents. Our product line works externally to heal the skin, and internally to calm the mind. The wonderful thing about using therapeutic essential oils is that you can blend with this mind body effect, creating a REALLY unique product that aligns with our "beauty from the inside out" concept.

Chinese medicine is all about balance. The toughest part of our day is trying to keep balance in our own lives.

Best day in company history

The best day in our company was when She Essential Beauty was featured in Marisa Belger’s Green Day column on TodayShow.com. Marisa writes an amazing column about organic fashion and beauty products for Today Show and she discovered She Essential Beauty about six months after we launched. The incredible exposure from that column introduced She Essential Beauty products to people all over the country and showed us that customer’s everywhere are interested in paraben and synthetic free products.

Biggest decision you ever had to make

The biggest decision we’ve had to make was to decide if we should seek out funding for She Essential Beauty to accelerate the speed of our growth or to continue to grow slowly at a more organic pace. We elected to grow more slowly and retain control of the company and the quality of our products.

Where do you see yourselves in 5 years

In 5 years we’d like to have our products distributed and used globally, we’d like to expand our line to include Chinese medicine based products for dermatological conditions and other health issues and we’d like every consumer to be making educated choices about their skin care regimes.
