My interest in natural skin care grew out of personal use and experience. I felt there must be a better way to healthy, vibrant skin than through the chemically preserved and enhanced products so readily available. I started handcrafting soaps and a few other items as a hobby. To my surprise, friends with whom I shared those items came back for more! Their honest appreciation and enthusiasm provided the spark needed to turn a labor of love into a successful venture.

Having owned a computer networking company, I understand and have lived through tremendous stress. I started studying aromatherapy during those times as a method to de-stress at the end of the day. The studying became obsessive for me and I found myself devouring books, taking classes and practicing blending as often as time permitted.

Like most people, I decided on 09/11/2001 to make a change in my life. When the opportunity came for me to take a step out on faith, I did just that with no regrets. This time in my life is so satisfying. Going from left brain to right brain presents its own set of challenges that can be quite interesting. I have found a deep peace in creating soaps and lotions and it has changed my life for the better. It is very rewarding to meet my customers who can appreciate a product that doesn’t irritate or smell as if they are wearing a medicine cabinet.

My goal is to offer the best and safest products, using the purest ingredients available, at the most affordable prices. To that end, whenever possible I select my suppliers from those located as close as possible to the ingredient source. This practice emphasizes our commitment to purity of product while also, through elimination of multiple marketing levels, resulting in savings that can be passed on to you.

Much time and effort is spent to insure the sustained high quality of our offerings. I research all aspects: color, essential oils, intended use, intended gender, possible unintended consequences and a number of other aspects.

Botanical Skin Works has become a joy and a passion in my life that I enjoy sharing.
