The Story of Dapple
It was 3 AM, and I was standing at my sink, completely sleep deprived, rinsing one of my 8-month-old daughter's baby bottles. And rinsing. And rinsing. The milk residue just wouldn't come off - and neither would the soap suds. I realized that I was so careful about everything I surrounded my baby with, yet here I was, using a synthetic dish detergent on the bottles that she was putting right into her mouth every day! The next morning and a few espressos later, I talked about it with my friend Tamar. Her daughter is ultra-allergic, so she was also extremely concerned about finding cleaning products that were natural and safe.
We decided to start asking around, and the response was overwhelming. Moms, dads, grandparents, and caregivers everywhere seemed to be clamoring for a better way to clean their baby bottles and dishes. A way that was natural, green, and safe - but that also actually worked on that stubborn film that only breast milk and formula could leave behind. We decided to find a solution. So we teamed up with a great group of pediatricians and green chemists, and Dapple was born.
Today we are extremely proud to offer a full line of products that safely yet effectively clean "baby dirt" - that is, the unique messes that only families with young children face. We start by looking at the messes themselves, as we did with the milk residue - whether it's sticky fingerprints on toys and high chairs, or spit-up stains on onesies - and then find a way to really get them clean, in a baby-safe way. 3 years and 6 kids later (3 each!), the Dapple line includes a host of baby-safe, baby-specific cleaners - including Dapple Baby Bottle & Dish Liquid, Dapple Toy & Surface Cleaner in spray and wipes, and more coming soon!
