Grilled Broccoli with Spice Krispies Recipe by Top Chef Winner Stephanie Izard

Who says you can't have fun with veggies? And who says you can't get kids to eat them? Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard, who exclusively launched her line of sauces and rubs called The Flavor on Abe's Market, created this recipe using two of her Asian-inspired sauces: Sauté and Chee. The recipe combines rice krispies and grilled broccoli for a fun and filling dish that's perfect for a family or for a small dinner party. And yes, the kids will eat 'em up!

Top Chef Winner Stephanie Izard's Grilled Broccoli & Spice Krispies

Yield: 4 side portions

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup rice krispies cereal
  • 2 T butter
  • 1 tsp The Chee
  • 1/3 cup The Saute

Instructions:

  1. For grilled broccoli: In a medium pot lightly steam broccoli for 2-3 minutes. Place in a bowl and toss with 1/3 cup The Saute. On medium-high heat grill for 3-4 minutes, until fully cooked.
  2. To make spice krispies: In a small sauté pan, melt butter and mix in 1 teaspoon of The Chee. Add rice krispies and allow to lightly cook, while stirring continually for 4 minutes.
  3. Toss cooked broccoli with spice krispies.
