Question: How do I use soap nuts in my HE Washer--what is the procedure for washing with soap nuts?

Answer: Soapnuts are very easy to use: just put 5 whole Soapnuts - or equal amount of halves - in one of the small washer bags (5 small washer bags are included with the 2 lb bag). Tie it close and toss it in the machine along with your clothes. When the wash cycle is over, take the nuts out of the bag and let them dry. You can reuse them about 5 times - up until they are shiny and sticky. Soapnuts are ideal for HE washers as they are low-sudsing; they are also effective in cold water. It is best not to put them in the dryer, but it won't hurt your clothes, just they dry out faster. You can tie a lavender bag close and put that in the dryer to add a fresh lavender scent to your clothes - or just in your drawer.
